4. Feel¶
Feel presets (UQuickCardsFeelPreset, Content Browser > QuickCards > Feel Preset; shipped in
QuickCards/Data/FeelPresets): a saved Feel that card widgets share through their Feel Preset setting (it replaces
the widget's own Feel settings; Set Feel Preset, Get Effective Feel). Editing a preset updates the cards using it, also
while playing.
| Preset | Character | Main values |
|---|---|---|
DA_QC_Feel_Snappy |
quick and precise | max tilt 22, stiffness 220, damping 24, return delay 0.05 s, fling 0.4 |
DA_QC_Feel_Weighty |
heavy card stock, no wobble | max tilt 18, sensitivity 0.1, stiffness 70, damping 16.5, return 0.15 s, parallax 0.9 |
DA_QC_Feel_Floaty |
light and bouncy, sways | max tilt 30, stiffness 45, damping 6, fling 0.9, idle sway 0.12 |
The motion is a damped spring solved exactly, so it plays out identically at any frame rate. Cards that aren't moving cost nothing per frame.
When nobody drags a card, it rests at a tilt made of the hover lean, the idle sway, the phone's tilt and the gamepad stick (each per its Feel setting, inverted like a drag, clamped to the max tilt); the spring follows it. A drag overrides all of them; Set Tilt holds its pose until the next drag. Only sway and a live gyro keep a card ticking while it's otherwise still.
Reduce motion (accessibility): Project Settings > Plugins > QuickCards > Reduce Motion, or Set Reduce Motion (QuickCards Library) at runtime: no idle sway and no phone tilt on any card; dragging still tilts.
