6. Hand¶
A hand on screen: add a QuickCards Hand to your HUD widget, anchored at the bottom, about 300 tall. Add Card for each card dealt (or Add Card Instance for copies your game tracks). Players hover to lift, tap to inspect, drag to move or reorder.
Playing a card: bind On Card Released (the card and the absolute screen position):
- Over your play area? Get Cached Geometry on it → Is Under Location.
- Yes: run your rules, Remove Card, and show it there with a card widget (its Card Instance = the hand card's).
- No: do nothing; it slides back.
On Card Moved fires while a card is carried (light up what's under it). The demo's Hand tab does exactly this. Layout: QuickCards | Hand (Fan or Row, card size, spacing); for your own, parent a widget on QuickCards Hand and override Get Card Place.
Gamepad and keyboard: Set Keyboard Focus on the hand. Left / Right move along it, the right stick tilts, Enter / A taps. Focus Card and Get Focused Card for your own buttons.
6.1 A card that turns over and shines¶
The QuickCards → Animation nodes wait for their animation to end, so a sequence is one straight line:
- Event Construct → Show Side and Wait (Back, Duration 0): face down.
- → Delay (4) → Flip Card and Wait → Play Reveal Sweep and Wait → whatever comes next.
Move Widget To slides, turns and scales a card with easing (e.g. to the middle before it flips).
