4. Finishes

Presets in QuickCards/Data/Finishes: Shine, Holo (for the Illustration), Reverse Holo, Gold and Silver (for the Frame), and the textured Glitter, Cracked Ice, Cosmos, Etched, Marble and Swirl.

On a card: in its Art list, set Finish on the row that should shine (Holo on the Illustration, Gold on the Frame). It covers that whole layer. A card shows up to two different finishes; the card's Details say which is left out.

On one copy in play: Set Finish on a card instance: Frame, Art or Whole Card (e.g. a reverse holo pulled from a pack). Patterned finishes look different on every copy; save Get Pattern Seed and restore it with Set Pattern Seed to keep a copy's look. A card placed by hand looks the same every play (change its Pattern Seed for another look).

Rarity decides packs only; give rare cards their look with finishes.

Make your own: duplicate a preset (or QuickCards → Finish): Type (Shine, Rainbow, Metallic), Color, Strength, Scale, Angle, Angle Response (how much it moves with tilt), Center Mask (art stays readable facing the player), Mask (white = foil, to limit it). For an etched foil, duplicate DA_QC_Finish_Etched and set its Mask to your pattern. Edits show live while playing.

A brand-new look (technical artists): Type Custom, written with material nodes in a copy of MF_QC_CustomFinish (it gets the art color, the point on the card, the tilt, the settings and the time). Duplicate M_QC_CardUI, point it at your function, and set the widget's Card Material. No C++ or shader code.

Inspect up close: tick Inspect On Click on a card widget (or call Inspect Card): the card opens big, turns by drag, flips on tap, closes on tap outside or Escape. Restyle it with a widget parented on QuickCards Inspect.

Cards in 3D: place a QuickCards Card Actor (Place Actors → QuickCards) and set Card Definition and Card Width (cm) on its Card component. It lies face up (Pitch 90 stands it up facing +X) and looks 3D from any camera, including the editor's. For clicks and hovers, turn on the player controller's Enable Click Events and Enable Mouse Over Events, then use On Card Clicked. The QuickCards Card component works on any actor. Max Depth Angle (30°) stops the layers sliding apart when seen far from the side.

Effects (card widget or 3D card, Effects): Edge Glow (a halo, can pulse: gold for a legendary, green for playable), Idle Shimmer (a soft light now and then), and Play Reveal Sweep for a moment of drama. Change them from Blueprint, then Refresh Card.
